The position


Can you be the First electrician to take responsibility for the electrical maintenance on board? Do you have strong management qualities and can you ensure that everyone carries out their tasks safely? Are you highly educated and do you have experience with electrical systems on board of crane ships? Please read more below, our recruiters are now looking for a First electrician for an offshore project in Singapore. 

Key responsibilities

Electrical Systems management and maintenance

  • Conduct regular inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure peak performance;
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on board the Heavy Lift Vessel;
  • Demonstrate expertise in managing Heavy-lift crane electrical systems, shipboard propulsion systems, and Azimuth Thrusters.

    Emergency response and Crisis management
  • Be well-versed in emergency shutdown procedures and protocols;
  • Lead and coordinate responses to electrical emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. 

    Safety Compliance
  • Enforce adherence to safety regulations and standards in all electrical operations;
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures.

    Spare Parts Management
  • Ensure availability of critical components to minimize downtime; 
  • Manage inventory and procurement of electrical spare parts, especially for the unique equipment on the vessel.

    Documentation and Reporting
  • Provide recommendations for improvements and long-term system optimization;
  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance activities, incidents, and equipment condition.

    Team Leadership and Training
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior electricians;
  • Lead and guide a team of electrical personnel on board, ensuring efficient collaboration and optimal performance.

Qualifications

  • Strong management and leadership skills;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities;
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure maritime environments;
  • Extensive experience in managing unique electrical systems;
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and use of diagnostic equipment;
  • Valid Electrical Officer's License or relevant electrical qualifications;
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and emergency response procedures;
  • A minimum of  2 years of experience as an ETO or First Electrician on Heavy Lift Vessels.
  • Proven expertise in Heavy-lift crane operations, shipboard propulsion systems and Azimuth Thrusters.
